My husband and I are preparing to become full-timers this spring. I'm a self-employed web developer and I've been trying to winnow out the tech odds and ends that have accumulated and will not be coming with us. I also need to replace my desktop system with a laptop, and the current laptop will probably become my husband's and available to me in emergencies. (The current laptop just won't do the trick as my primary work system.) I've been eying Macs, but don't know anyone personally who owns one and it's hard to know what's sales hype and real performance stories. Any recommendations for a work system on a budget?
